Psychotic disorders therapy

The recommended treatment for Psychotic Disorder involves both typical and atypical antipsychotic medication (haloperidol, zuclopenthixol, clotiapine, olanzapine, clozapine, quetiapine, aripiprazole, etc.) and a therapeuthic-rehabilititative plan aimed at improving personal, social and professional relations. During the acute phase, hospitalisation may be necessary in order to formulate an appropriate pharmacological therapy plan with daily monitoring of the patient’s clinical status, while also safeguarding patients from possible behavioural anomalies, which could be harmful to themselves and others.
The pharmachological treatment plan should be supported by psychotherapy.
